Gilgamesh the Hero

I believe Gilgamesh is a hero. Now he is an epic. He is a hero because he was great, brave, and always saved his city, Uruk from any harm. People say that he is the best hero that ever lived in the ancient world. I also think he is a hero because he defeated the demon Humbaba. I also believe that he is a hero because he never did harm to no one except to the people that did harm to him. This is why I believe Gilgamesh is a hero

The Stories Message

I infer that the stories message is that no one not even a king or a god can live forever. I also think it is that not to think your the best because that is not true. No one in the world is perfect, because in the ancient world the gods sent someone that is stronger and faster. For example, in the story the gods sent Enkidu to earth since Gilgamesh thought that he was the best. It is also that no one is the bravest because in the story it said that even the gods got scared when the black clouds arrived. The only thing you can do is be one of the best so your name can be heard for generations to come. This is what I think the message of the story was.

The Story of Gilgamesh

The setting in the story is the city of Uruk where the great king Gilgamesh is, but also the cedar forest. The rising action begins when people give complaints that a beast is eating there animals. Then Gilgamesh sends someone to calm Ekidu. After that, they go back to the city of Uruk. The climax is that after a few years Gilgamesh and Ekidu get lazy. So then Gilgamesh proposed a great adventure, that he and Ekidu will go to the cedar forest and slay the demon Humbaba and cut down his trees. When they got there they saw Humbaba and they killed him. The falling action is that when they get back to the city, Ekidu starts to have nightmares about the house of dust and he can see his ancestors. Then the spirit of Humbaba appears and curses Enkidu. About two weeks later he dies. The resolution begins when Gilgamesh gets back to Uruk he kneels and praises Uruk, and for his creation to carry on his name for generations to come.
